Waterfowl Hunts

From our opening day on September 1st until the freeze up in mid-December, our club members hunt migrating waterfowl within an hour radius of our beloved Westmeath Beach house which is located in the tiny village of Westmeath, Ontario, Canada.

We’re truly blessed to live in an area where the fowl hunting opportunities are vastly abundant and hunting pressure is at a minimum.

The birds migrate down from the North each Fall following the waters of the mighty Ottawa River and many of them use our area as a refuge as they fly South because of abundance of roosting areas and agricultural land.

Want to join us in the blind? 

We’re going hunting anyway, so you might as well come with us right?  Each day of hunting with us will include a morning and/or afternoon hunt on dry grain fields, cut corn fields, managed wetlands, watersheds, rivers and/or creeks.  It's always an adventure as to where we will set the decoys and you can bet ww will be  religiously scouting daily, so we're always trying to be on the "X".

Our target species for waterfowl hunts will consist of dabbling ducks (Mallards, Blue-wing Teal, Green-wing Teal, Wood Ducks) as well as the ever plentiful Canada Geese that descend on our area every Fall.  Most hunts will provide the opportunity to take daily limits of Canada geese and some ducks as well added to the game strap. 

We typically hunt out of layout blinds or A-frame style blinds.  Due to our proximity to the Ontario/Quebec border - there is also an opportunity to hunt in both provinces.

Depending on the time of year stay you with us, there is also opportunity for you hunt ruffed grouse, wet a line in the Ottawa River for small mouth bass, northern pike or walleye or perhaps just relax and enjoy the company of your guests and ours. 

This is truly one of the finest water fowling experiences in all of Eastern Ontario or Western Quebec.
