Welcome to the Westmeath Beach House.
A beautiful custom-built home on the shores of the Ottawa River that we use year round as the central hub of all things bird hunting.
The house itself is the personal residence of GoHuntBirds.com founder Marc Lapierre and his family. They enjoy the solitude and sanctity of the property year-round but when the hunting season arrives they open up the doors to the bird hunting community to come share some of the best bird hunting in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec with their guests.
That means when you come to hunt with us, you actually stay WITH US and become a part of our extended family while you enjoy your experience.
We invite you into our home and share with you everything we have...
When you stay and hunt with us, you definitely won’t go hungry. In the blind your hosts will always have snacks on the ready and after the hunt there’s always a cooler full of ice cold bevvies on the tailgate. Back at the house, there is always ample food to eat and drinks to be had as well and Miss Kay’s home cooking will leave you wanting a second helping. It’s safe to say that it’s probably not a good idea to be on a diet when you’re staying with us.
Relax after your hunts looking out at the picturesque Ottawa River and all of it’s beauty. Our particular stretch of the river hosts thousands and thousands of migrating waterfowl year round and you can actually sit on the back deck and watch the birds come over the house from the local farmer’s fields as they head to and from water to loaf and roost on the river. It’s truly a sight to see and best enjoyed with a cold drink in hand.
We host our guests in a large accommodating living space adorned with taxidermy, photos, books and trophies from our past hunts. We open up our entire home to those staying with us including everything from our big comfortable furniture to our always stocked beer cooler and whiskey cabinet. When you finally retire for the evening to get some rest, we have very comfortable sleeping quarters that will leave you dreaming about hunting.
